After submitting auditions for Choir and Band SCHS students, Vincent Wegner (11) and Michael Arriaza (11), were invited to All-State Band and Choir. On the 18th and 19th of November, they attended State in Lincoln. Vincent went for band. The instrumental coach that helped him prepare for this is Paul Niedbalski, the SCHS Instrumental Music teacher. Michael Arriaza auditioned for All State Choir. Morgan Semerad, the Schuyler Central High School Music Director, helped Michael for State. The choir class also helped him prepare for this by rehearsing and singing different scales. Choir is an elective class that can be chosen. Michael’s favorite part of All State was the concert on the last day. “We got to perform all the music we had been working on and it sounded great” Michael said eagerly.

Michael has always had a passion for music ever since he was young. “I’ve been singing for the longest time and I guess I just haven’t left choir because choir is the only activity that allows me to do what I love,” Michael shared. Michael claims that this was a positive experience for him. Michael enjoyed making music with other people who also care about music as much as he does.
