Warriors Expect More Depth for New Season
The 2018-19 Schuyler Central High School boys basketball team, under the coaching leadership of Lyndon Beebe, will be looking to improve during this years’ season. “I hope our players improve week to week. We’re focusing on getting stronger and emphasizing getting reps on offense and defense,” said Coach Beebe. Coach Beebe was pleased with his pre-season practices. According to Coach Beebe, “The big advantage his team has is how well his team works together with one another.”
Varsity player, Easton Hall has been playing basketball since he was three. Hall has been a varsity player for two seasons, as a freshman and as a sophomore. Hall also plays both golf and baseball. “I think the season will go very well. Hopefully we win about 10 games,” said Hall. Even though the team has its’ strengths they still have their challenges. “The biggest challenge is probably how young we are, but at the same time it could help us because other teams won’t know what to expect from us,” said Hall.
What Coach Beebe is hoping to achieve is to make sure that his team keeps improving every practice they have. “We have several tough opponents this season. The teams that have given us the most problems are ones that are physical. We have to be able to physically match up with our opponents,” said Coach Beebe,“We’re focusing on getting stronger and emphasizing getting reps on offense and defense.”
