As a junior at the Schuyler Central High School, you tend to feel a large amount of responsibility, pressure, and stress. According to sofi.com, the junior year is the hardest year of high school. Coming into junior year, you look forward to applying to colleges, taking college classes, taking AP classes, performing the ACT, and pushing yourself to graduate. Junior year is not only about high school classes, but it’s about knowing what career you want to pursue after high school. 

Since I had heard that junior year is the hardest year, I, a junior, approached the year afraid. I  was frightened that I wasn’t going to be able to pass my classes with A’s. However, I was able to surround myself with the right people who were able to push me to pass my classes with A’s. The classes have gotten harder as the days go by, but learning how to take a few hours out of your day to study will improve your learning more than you think.

 In the past few days, the teachers have been reminding us that the ACT is coming up in April. The teachers are doing a good job helping us prepare for it. For example, in English we have been practicing and being timed on how we can do the essay part of the ACT. In Math and Science class, we have been doing some problems to help us prepare for their part of the ACT.

Junior year isn’t only about school, but it’s also the age where you are able to get a job. I decided to get a job where it’s going to take me after high school. I work at the After School Program at the Elementary school, where I am able to work with kids and learn how to develop a relationship with them. I chose this, because I wanted to pursue a career as an Elementary teacher. Therefore, being in school and maintaining a job can get quite difficult for my learning. In spite of that, I will continue to keep on pushing myself in order to pass junior year.
