The boys golf season is starting soon, and there are many things to discuss. The coach of the boys golf team is Brante Hayes, who is a first grade teacher at the Schuyler Elementary School. This year will be Mr. Hayes’s ninth season coaching the team. Coach Hayes explained that the boys have been taking advantage of the nice weather and going out the course to get ready for this year’s season. The boys have also been working on their contact and competitive mindsets for the upcoming season. Coach Hayes shared that he has been looking forward to seeing how the boys’ practice and effort throughout the summer will translate to this season. “I’m looking for my golfers to improve on last year’s averages and find some new PR’s,” Coach Hayes commented.

Nathan Colvin, a sophomore, is one of the boys on the boys golf team. Nathan has been playing golf for approximately three years. “I have been out on the golf course everyday since the golf course allowed us on early,” Nathan shared. He hopes to letter for a second year for Schuyler Central High School. Nathan’s favorite part about golf is that it is an individual sport in which you can be as good as you want by not having to worry about other people. On March 25, they will have their first competition against West Point.
