This year at Schuyler Central High School, we have two State Track qualifiers. Last year’s track season had five State qualifiers. The 2024 State Qualifiers were: Nicolas Hernandez (12), and Carlos Carrasco (12). This year’s Districts was held at Boone Central. Nicolas placed 3rd in Discuss and Carlos placed 4th in the 300 hurdles. Their performance at Districts led them to qualify for State. Both athletes competed on Thursday, May 16th at Omaha Burke High School.
Before Thursday, Coach Mollring commented that “Nic and Carlos will represent us well at the State Track Meet.” This will be Nicolas’ second time at State Track. Nic earned his way to State last year by his performance in Discuss at 149’11. Nic placed 15th in discuss at 136′ 01 and Carlos placed 22nd in the 300 hurdles. The SCHS Track season has ended and this concludes their 2024 season.
