The boys soccer season ended with a record 14-4. The boys competed in sub districts against Lakeview Vikings and won 10-0. This led them to qualify for Districts. During the first round of Districts, they went against Scotus Shamrocks and won 3-2. On Saturday, May 4th, the boys went against the Hasting Tigers and won 6-0. This made them District Champion and led them to compete at the first round at State.
According to the Omaha World Herald, the Warriors were ranked 6th and Bennington. On May 9th, many Warrior fans traveled to Omaha to watch the boys go against the Bennington Badgers at State. Jose Cruz was guarded the entire game by three players but managed to score in the first minute. The teams were tied most of the game and went into double overtime. The Warriors lost the first round of State against the Badgers 1-2. Head Coach Ulises Fuentes shared that he prepared the boys for State mentally and physically. Erik Kravig, one of the assistant coaches, went on to share “We went to Shelby because they have a big turf field so we could get used to it at State.” The day of the games, the coaches took the players to get breakfast and spend time with each other.
