SCHS had a day of drawing, painting, karaoke, pastels, and more in the park which they called Art in the Park. The Art in the Park was held by Deb Gonsior, sponsor of the SCHS Art Club. It was held Friday September 13, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. The Art in the Park was located north of the swimming pool by the tennis court.

The reason the Art in the Park began was because the Art Club members wanted to have an activity that was open to the public. Art in the Park has been held for nine consecutive years. Last year the club had 42 members. The Art Club will also be taking a photography field trip, a Christmas field trip, a Columbus library field trip as well as a field trip to Omaha.

SCHS clubs, like the Art Club, with events like Art in the Park are extracurricular activities that add more ways to be involved in school activities and follow your interests. So, whether you are an athlete or an artist SCHS has something for you.
