A new lady in the math house at SCHS
This is the long awaited interview of the new math teacher Staci Shonka. Mrs. Shonka is a new teacher here at SCHS. To get to know her more, we have asked her some questions. Here are some of the answers to the questions. Mrs. Shonka has taught before. She taught in Columbus. This is her 8th year of teaching. Growing up she was inspired to become a teacher by her dad, because she saw that he inspired his kids. Her father was an Industrial Arts teacher for 42 years. She has two dogs and two horses. She is the only female in the math department. She attended North Platte High School in North Platte, NE.
Mrs. Shonka teaches different types of math classes. She teaches geometry, algebra 2, and college algebra. Schuyler has been her residence for past 5 years. She enjoys working here at Schuyler Central High School. The last question that we asked her was what would you say to someone who was thinking of coming to Schuyler. Her response was “ Schuyler is a very welcoming place and is full of great opportunities”. SCHS looks forward to getting to know Mrs. Shonka.
