Sudanese in Schuyler
Magbola Mohamed was interviewed because of her different culture. Magbola is from Sudan. Her favorite food from Sudan is Gurasa, which is locally made bread in Kano. Her favorite American food is a cheeseburger. Magbola has lived in Schuyler for 4 years. She lives here because there are better jobs for her parents. Her favorite subject in school is weights. In the spring, Magbola is going to participate in track.
Magbola is an only child. Magbola likes the school here because she feels like there are a lot of different opportunities to learn. Her dad works at Cargill and her mom is a stay at home wife. Before coming to Schuyler, Magbola lived in Grand Island, Lexington, and Chicago. The town that Magbola lived in, in Sudan is called Khartoum. Khartoum is the capital of Sudan. It was originally an Army camp. It is the largest city in Sudan. Also, its divided by two Nile rivers. Magbola has lived in the United States for 8 years.
