Student leaves El Salvador to live with father

Oscar enjoys living in Schuyler.

Schuyler Central High School sophomore, Oscar Hernandez came to Schuyler from El Salvador because his father brought him here to live with him and have a better life. Hernandez likes Schuyler because it is a quiet city and he likes the the atmosphere of Schuyler. His favorite class at Schuyler Central High School is math and weights. In his free time, he likes to playing soccer. His favorite food from El Salvador is pupusas. Pupusas are made from masa dough. Pupusas are corn filled with a variety of ingredients such as pork, chicken, cheese, or beans.

The holiday that he likes the most is Christmas. His favorite sports are soccer and ping pong. El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America and is smaller than the state of Massachusetts. El Salvador is a mountainous country bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Guatemala, and Honduras. El Salvador is known as the land of volcanoes, and has frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity.
